Bob just got hired as an animator. He works at Super Awesome Factory, tracing items over and over until his workday is over. However, Bob is extremely creative, and he wants to draw something other than doors and buttons...Oh no! That's against the rules! HR sends out their Evil Minions to Bob, snuffing out all creativity that could be happening at desk #5,000,001.
As Bob runs out of the factory, he finds the magic pencil, an item that allows him to draw outside of the template, creating NEW things never seen before, like spaghetti! Outside the factory, there is a life of joy, whimsy, and NPCs! Bob uses his newfound creative skills to save a farmer from crows, a restaurant from failing, and finally, confront the CEO of the worst animating factory Bob has ever seen...
I helped create a system where the player can draw using the mouse. This was done using a material overlay and a brush that is drawn every tick the mouse is clicked. We also have a system for comparing the drawing to a pre-drawn template.
I programmed several enemies, including a wall of minions that follows the player at a certain speed. When the wall hits the player, they instantly die. They stop at certain points in the level to allow players to draw with enough time left.
I created the boss, named Dod, who has stolen Bob's face. He spawns spikes, beams, and minions that chase the player in random orders, and also can move around the level to specified locations. He also has a final stage where he spawns extra spikes that home onto the player.
I did a lot of level sequencing with cameras, as well as design within the level. The sections shown here I fully completed, including all text, drawing, items, and camera movement.
